Carl Knopp joined Leisure Hotels & Resorts in July of 2004 bringing 20 years of experience in construction and construction
administration to Leisure Hotels & Resorts.

His interest actually began at the age of 13, and by college he was working to build his knowledge and expertise.  He specializes in interior commercial remodeling and his talent is represented by several open store remodels for Macy’s ranging from $20 to $30 million as an employee of Federated Department Stores in San Francisco, CA. as well as representing the architect in large new builds such as a $132 million Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City , KS., and the prototype Chrysler Dealership in Las Vegas, NV. totaling $17 million.

As the project manger for Oakwood World Wide, he successfully completed two 402 unit, 15 building remodels including a 18,000 sq. feet club house, pool, & pool deck in Mountview, CA. and San Jose, CA.  In addition, Carl owned his own construction company specializing in retail tenant improvements.

While at Leisure, Carl has completed 5 major renovations, including a 63 room, and a 69 room Holiday Inn Express’, as well as the completion of the new 141 room Holiday Inn prototype at the KCI Expo Center totaling $15.5 million.  Currently, Carl is working on 3 Staybridge Suites conversions, a 151 room and common space remodel at the Hotel Grand Victorian in Branson, MO., and a 153 room remodel at the Holiday Inn in Olathe, KS. which will include a new restaurant/bar and pool enclosure. 

As a construction administrator and business owner, Mr. Knopp brings supervisory and management
experience to Leisure as well as hands-on knowledge of the industry.

Mr. Knopp has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Kansas State University.
