Jim Cook just recently joined Leisure Hotels & Resorts as the Senior Vice President of Construction.

Over the last thirty five years Jim has accumulated extensive experience in the construction and real estate development industries. He began his career with a General Contractor in Dallas, TX. He was quickly promoted with in his field to a project manager and worked on Terminal 2W at the DFW Airport within his first year of work. This was the only Terminal to be 100% complete in time for the grand opening of the airport.

Jim has enhanced company performance by introducing construction management, fast track construction, and value engineering. He has integrated new construction and materials into his projects, always trying to give the project owner more for his money. Jim has successfully completed many different structures such as hospitals, medical offices, office buildings, retail shops, and retail warehouses with several individual projects exceeding $40,000,000.

After completing conceptual construction estimates for the renovation and reconstruction of 1053 single family and duplex homes, Jim became Vice President of the privately held company that owned the project. He became the development company’s first employee and went on to hire the majority of the staff. Jim organized the company’s structure, implemented the company plan, and was responsible for the company’s bottom line.

Jim moved to the Kansas City area and became involved in the development and construction of hotels and shopping centers. He was promoted to President of a shopping center development company and was responsible for all elements of the development and construction process from site selection to grand opening.
With Jim’s extensive background in construction management and real estate he is key asset to Leisure Construction and Development divisions.

Jim graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science.
